Illegality of Gambling

Many people find many ways to enjoy life through hobbies and activities. As part of people's daily lives, we find time to enjoy and relax depending on our choices.

Some people would go to movies for relaxation, some listening to music and watching concerts, some just want to go in front of their television sets and watch basketball games while still others spend hours and hours inside a gambling place wasting their time and money.

This is just one of the main concerns of the public. Is gambling really necessary? Is it just a form of recreational game? Is it a means of enjoyment or a way of getting addicted to a dangerous habit?

This issue has been present in our society for years now. Both the government and church are trying to implement rules and creating some campaigns to stop gambling because for them, it is immoral. But if we are going to think about this, what makes gambling immoral if it's main objective is simply to bring fun and entertainment to the public?

Gambling, in its simplest term is not illegal. There is no problem with playing poker, bingo, blackjack, backgammon or other forms of games if it is being played for its main purpose. But what makes gambling immoral is the idea of players who are getting addicted to the game.

Those people who spend their nights and days inside a gambling place want to win money and buy properties and get richer. Even some politicians are spending and wasting their time gambling in casinos using the government budget. There are reported cases of people who learn how to engage in robberies and corruption just because they lost their money gambling. These are just a few scenarios why gambling is restricted in the society.

It is a known fact that gambling can make us rich quicker. It could make us financially stable overnight not to mention all the properties, investments and of course, influence and fame. This is probably the reason why people are getting addicted to gambling. Because it could make people's lives established and financially stable.

But people need to realize that despite all the positive effects and influence of gambling, there is always a negative side. We need to remember that not all days are lucky days. It is called gambling because people take the chance and risk money without any assurance. They are just passing their chance to fate hoping that good luck would fall on their side.

Recreational games were invented to entertain people. Let us not use our freedom to be addicted to gambling. We need to put in mind all the negative aspects and effects that these games bring. Just like other things, gambling itself brings enjoyment to people if it is used in a right and correct manner.
